Teresa Almeida d'Eca

I'm a retired EFL teacher and currently an online and f2f teacher trainer in Web 2.0 tools. I taught English for 33 years at most levels. I live and work from home in a small town in the suburbs of Lisbon, Portugal. In January 2002, I joined the Webheads in Action for the EVOnline 8-week teacher development workshop - yes, back then it was 8 weeks!!! - and since then I've been actively involved in the cyberworld of education! I've been coordinator and moderator of BaW with Dafne González since 2004. It's the longest-running EVO workshop having so far reached over 2500 colleagues in 98 countries. This year I have two new co-coordinators, Fernanda Rodrigues and Larissa Olesova. I also co-moderate with Dafne the TESOL Principles and Practices Certificate Program course "Teaching Vocabulary and Grammar Online". You're welcome to visit my website and get in touch with me at teresadeca-at-gmail.com .

Larisa Olesova

I am Larisa Olesova from Yakutsk (Russia), but currently I have finished my Ph.D. in Learning Design and Technology at Purdue University in the United States. I have been teaching EFL and ESP at North-Eastern Federal University in Yakutsk since 1989. I still have an opportunity to teach my students in Yakutsk. How? Of course - by using all available technologies today! I am teaching online a lot. I am still excited to see how the world is getting smaller and closer through technologies. Today, I widely use online collaboration between classes in Yakutsk and in the United States. I am in EVO almost since 2003 and I always try to attend all EVO sessions at TESOL. I have been involved into Becoming a Webhead since 2009. In 2010, I had an opportunity to moderate one of the BAW sessions devoted to online chat and conferences with my colleague from Brazil Jose Antonio. Then, I moderated the week on interactive activities in 2011 with my friend from Russia Valentina. Thanks to invitation of my best friend Teresa from Lisbon, Portugal I was able to open the EVO world online! I am looking forward to another round of exciting events and discussions!

Anisoara Pop

Hello everyone,

I am Anisoara Pop from Targu Mures, Transylvania, the central part of Romania. I have been teaching EFL and Business English at Dimitrie Cantemir University for over twenty years. My teaching has changed enormously ever since I joined BAW in 2009 for the first time. Applying web communication tools has made my students rich content creators, happy, engaged and motivated learners. Their English language experiences have become more memorable, real and authentic. But being a part of BAW is definitely more than that: it means making new friends from all over the world, constant and timely support, exploration, and above all a rewarding self-learning experience of improvement, sharing and commitment to the teaching profession with like-minded people. That is why I am here for BAW2012 to explore, learn and share with YOU!

Salam. I am Hala Fawzi, a proud Sudanese Webhead!  I hold a PhD in blended language learning. As always, and for as long as I can, I am very delighted to be part of this fantastic group. I had taught ESP/EAP/EFL for over 15 years in several universities in Sudan. I used tech tools with my students since 2006 and never looked behind. I have many certificates in online teaching, online moderation and using the web in teaching EFL/ESL.  I conducted several workshops to train teachers in using technology in teaching and/or teacher professional development.  Currently, I am working at the Applied Linguistics Department, Yanbu University College, Saudi Arabia, where I teach TEFL courses, one of which is my  favorite: educational technology! I have actively participated as a participant, a co- moderator and a moderator with Baw since 2005. Looking forward to connect with all our new bawers!
